I imaged these sunspots on 03/28/08. They are still associated with solar cycle #23. The sun has been mostly blank all winter due to solar minimum. Solar cycle #24 began in January 2008 with a single sunspot that had reversed polarity. Cycle #23 is still present as these spots demonstrate. Judd Isbell
Couldn't sleep Christmas eve, set up the telescope and started performing the alignment. I used Sirius as one of the alignment stars. I noted something unusual close to Sirius, so I grabbed the camera and started shooting. The first images looked like a comet. An hour later it had moved considerably and started to dispers. I knew then that it was a fuel dump. Judd Isbell
